IFC acquires Mary Harron's 'Moth Diaries'
IFC Films has acquired U.S. privileges to director Mary Harron's "The Moth Journals," three several weeks following the medieval thriller performed in the Venice and Toronto film festivals. IFC introduced the offer Monday. It did not indicate if this will release "Journals," presented by Alliance Films and Edward R. Pressman. "Journals," in line with the novel by Rachel Klein, was modified by Harron and stars Lily Cole, Sarah Gadon, Sarah Bolger, and Scott Speedman. Karine Martin and David Collins are producers with Sandra Cunningham, Pressman, Mark Slone, Jean-Francois Doray, Louis-Simon Menard, Norton Herrick, Zygi Kamasa and Jon Katz professional creating. Story's dedicated to Bolger's character, a youthful girl haunted by her father's suicide, who's students in an exclusive female boarding school. She flows her heart in a diary, a lot of it centered on her beloved roommate -- however their relationship changes drastically using the arrival of the mysterious new student, described by Cole. The offer for that film was discussed by Arianna Bocco, senior Vice president of purchases and productions for Sundance Chooses/IFC Films with Bart Master at Cinetic Media with respect to the filmmakers.
